We unlock culinary creative skills

Cooking Skills

With fresh produce growing at The Vinery, our cooking workshops bring fresh, nutritious wholesome meals and recipe ideas to the heart of the community.

Our kitchen is home to a number of courses to help break down the barriers around creating good quality, nutritious meals.  Our mobile cooking stations provide a perfect, safe environment for people to cook with the right amount of guidance and support. Our team also travel to nearby villages and towns to deliver these incredible cooking workshops.

Our food courses include meal prepping, planning and budgeting, helping create lifelong skills including:

  • Supporting healthier food choices

  • Increasing skills and confidence buying ingredients on a limited budget

  • Increasing confidence cooking from scratch

  • Understanding food hygiene and safety

  • Learning essential food preparation and cooking techniques

REHIS accreditation

Alongside our free skills building courses we offer additional training through Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) accredited courses. If you are looking to gain the right skills and qualifications to move into a professional role this course is for you.
